Ichthys LNG – Scaffolding Works

Project Overview:

The INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project involves processing gas from the Ichthys Field through an offshore central processing facility (CPF) and transporting it via an 889-kilometer gas export pipeline (GEP) to the onshore processing plant at Bladin Point in Darwin. MAS Australasia Pty Ltd, now part of Altrad, provided scaffolding solutions for the project’s onshore LNG facilities, delivering access solutions to support construction, installation, and maintenance activities.

Scope:

Altrad’s scope of work included:

  • Provision of scaffolding assets, including materials, supply, and installation services, to LNG process and inlet areas.
  • Design and engineering of scaffolding systems tailored to complex site requirements.
  • Deployment of skilled management and technical personnel to oversee operations and ensure safety.
  • Collaboration with JKC Australia Pty Ltd, the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the onshore facilities.

Manning:

  • Peak workforce deployment of 700 personnel
  • 2,503,830 man-hours logged

Outcomes:

  • Delivered scaffolding services supporting the engineering and construction of the onshore LNG facilities, including the gas processing plant at Bladin Point.
  • Achieved a remarkable safety record with over 2.5 million man-hours logged without major incidents.
  • Handled 14,400 tonnes of scaffolding materials efficiently, ensuring timely completion of project tasks.
